So 2020 is officially here. This is going to be your year. Or so you tell yourself... You might be thinking of a few resolutions you want to start. Or you might be like me and decide to be "anti-resolution" this year. Regardless which you choose, I wanted to share 5 Life Changing Habits I started over the last year.
Throughout the month of January, you'll find a ton of influencers talk about their resolutions and life changes. But I feel the list is always too long and a bit overzealous, if you ask me. Let's be real here, after about 2 months everyone always seems to fall off track. So why are we still setting ourselves up for failure?!
I like to officially start my year off when I feel I'm ready to commit. For me, that usually is towards the end of January or early February (when the hype dies down). So let's try to focus on the things that we know can change our lives for the better, as opposed to making our lives better for the moment.
Here are 5 Life Changing Habits to start in 2020:
1. Get organized- an organized space helps to bring an organized mind which aids in productivity.
2. Declutter regularly- letting go of things that do not serve a purpose allows you to utilize things that are more purposeful. For example, I like to go through my clothes every few months to get rid of items that I don't wear. I also like to go through my kitchen cabinets to do the same in order to make more space for the things I use regularly. I then do the same in other closets and nooks throughout my home. To be honest, the decluttering never ends once it becomes a habit.

3. Get greenery- add some greenery to help boost the quality of oxygen in your home and overall happiness. I am recently obsessed with houseplants and cannot imagine my life without them moving forward. Best habit to date!
4. Live a healthy lifestyle- this is a wide category which includes everything starting from your mind to body. Things you can do here include something as simple as drinking more water, reading, exercise of any kind, eating healthier, or taking vitamins and probiotics. Taking care of our bodies and mind can seem so challenging but if we don't make efforts to do better, we won't be better.
5. Be intentional with your energy- don't waste good energy on negativity or negative people. It's so important for us to go through every stage of life with the right energy directed to the right things. Otherwise, we will live a life of exhaustion, directing all our energy into the things that literally suck the energy out of us. Life can be exhausting when lived backwards.
I hope you found these habits realistic and worthy of your time. Sometimes it's just good to focus on the things that really matter. What should always matter is, you. These habits have been so beneficial for me and I hope this post motivated and inspired you to take a similar approach to being a better version of you.

That's a genius idea. Good luck with much success!! One of these years my hubby and I will have to try that one out. Knowing him, he'll say something like... "It doesn't even matter" 🤣
Cheers to you, I too don't do the resolutions....I agree that people make it a big hype and by the end of Jan sometimes even the end of the first week they have fallen off. This year for the first time my husband and I sat on new year's eve and talked about individual and couple goals that we wanted to achieve this year. I have them in my phone so that I can remind myself and stay on track. I think even the smallest change as long as you're consistent with it can have lasting benefits. Will be amazing to see this new year's when we evaluate how well we did.
